I feel the same way about summer.
It may be a coping mechanism to deal with the inevitable. Around this time of
year, I’m done with brightly colored toes, zucchini, al fresco everything and
swimsuits (though I’m also finally immune to swimsuit fear). I want something
new. Bring me a comfy sweater, fall foliage or a delicious, organic apple. Our
clients are equally “new” obsessed always asking us what the latest snack or
workout is. Have no fear, new stuff is here.
We decided
to branch out from kale chips. There’s nothing wrong with kale and we still
have kale chips but thought you’d like to crunch on something else. Enter Just Pure Foods veggie chips. The onion is my favorite dusted with sunflower and
hemp seeds and seasoned with mesquite powder. I’ve never had those canned
crunchy onions but I hear they’re like a healthy version of those. And if
you’re still clinging to summer, be sure to try the zucchini sticks too.
Snacks don’t have to be comprised of
snack foods. These individual olive packs from Oloves are genius. I knew they
were a winner when, on an airplane, my husband tried them. He’s not an olive
guy and adored them. We tracked down the Olove team between their summer vacations
and have both the Mediterranean (most popular) and Hot Chili Mama in stock. You
can guess which flavor I like…or maybe you can’t. And these packs of satisfying
goodness for the afternoon? Only 50 calories.
So we have something for crunch, something
for your salty tooth and finally a secret weapon for any of you who may be heading
into fall with a summer “souvenir”. A while back I posted about Safslim. I
reviewed the promising research but suggested getting the benefits similar to
Safslim from food. Many clients reading about the Safslim research wanted to
give it a try. They did and reported back with glowing reviews. The blog post
generated a lot of feedback too. The drawback was that Safslim was unwieldy to
travel with. We’re excited to offer the individual Safslim packets. Belly bulge
be gone.
Inevitably, in a few months, I will miss the
extra daylight, rose’ and sunshine. I will never tire of
olives and a flat belly (even if it’s buried beneath a chunky sweater). For
more newness check out our fall Monthly Morsels goodness. newsletter
The Olove people are excited about
fall food too. They have a box of their Mediterranean Oloves for one lucky
reader. To be eligible:

I HAD to comment because Ive only ever had one olive in my life :-) ON A DARE...
ReplyDeletenot really for me although everyone tells me Im missing out
I so realize not everyone is an olive person. That's why I included the example from my husband (still can't believe I married someone anti-olive). So there's hope with these Carla if you want to give it another try. Should I dare you? Or maybe you still to the veggie chips..thanks for commenting.
ReplyDeleteI'm OBSESSED with olives, and I've yet to have one that I do NOT like. I prefer green, but I'll eat them black, or greek, or whatever. I've been known as the "olive girl" ever since I was young and my grandma would keep an entire jar in the fridge for me when I visited :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the SafSlim info. So, it really works?? We need to get that in our stores!
I am so with you Gina, love olives maybe with exception of super strong wrinkled ones but I'll eat those too. We've received glowing Safslim reviews.
ReplyDeleteOolives - why didn't I think of that? Darn.
ReplyDeleteLove these snacks and I'm also super stocked about fall - enough with summer already. Just blogged about getting back to business today, so totally agree. You've got awesome variety here, will be stopping by your store very soon!
The hubs n' I both love olives. Like, super love. We always have two kinds in the house at all times. My favorite type is kalamata. I throw them in Moroccan meals, Italian meals, and on salads.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for fall because I'm excited for Oktoberfest beers n' football. :)
I like run-of-the-mill regular green olives from the jar and black olives from a can. When I was a kid one year, I got a little gift of a jar of olives under the Christmas tree. A note on the jar said that I didn't have to share it with my brothers! I will always remember that - so sweet of my mom. I probably ate the entire thing on Christmas Day! Looking forward to your posts again, Lauren.
ReplyDeleteNo sharing, great present and so thoughtful. Such a good story. I love martini olives, green but they have to be big ones.
ReplyDeleteOktoberfest, good one! You married an olive lover, lucky girl. BTW did you get a giveaway from us, you won something and we couldn't track you down...
ReplyDeletehave to read your post, back to regularly scheduled programming one FB friend wrote, love it.
ReplyDeleteHusband and I are obsessed with green olives! When we make homemade pizzas we put green olives on it. A signature drink at our wedding was an extra dirty vodka martini! I would love these olove packs!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite fall activity is definitely apple/pumpkin picking with my nieces. And sweaters, I LOVE a cozy sweater :)
I am excited for fall because I just love fall leaves and pumpkins..
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for pumpkin season and my favorite types of olives are black!
ReplyDeleteI love summer so I am not ready to let it go :) Love olives...had them last night with humus and pita chips ..yum :)
ReplyDeleteI always welcome your suggestions, they are always great :)
WHAT! Olives to go? This sounds amazing. My favorite olives are kalamatas and my favorite fall activity? Picnics!
ReplyDeleteFirst, is your son's arm ok??? Second, if your kids can dive in the pool w/ just lifeguard supervision, they are totally ready for laundry duty :-) Third-LOVE olives & would love to try these! The main reason I'm excited for fall is because my kids are back in school, and I have more time for my work & getting other things done. Just being honest, as it is way too hot here for warm and fuzzy sweaters right now. Fourth-very intrigued by the SafeSlim reports you've been getting back from your clients!
ReplyDeleteSo ready to let go of summer...unfortunately that won't happen for a while here in LA!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite type of olives are the saltiest ones...don't know if that's kalamata? So tasty.
love that you are an olive girl we often disagree on food. Oh so sad, you have to come to NYC to wear your wintry stuff.
ReplyDeleteI hear you EA, my kids go back monday. Togetherness has his limits. Mainly, to do list is gigantic.
ReplyDeleteFall picnics, interesting. I love kalamatas but cerignolas are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteTHanks ayala, love your little mezze combo.
ReplyDeletepumpkin season, cannot wait. I wimped out on carving last year, will go for it this year.
ReplyDeleteI'm so with you Connie.
ReplyDeletelove that you had dirty martinis at your wedding, we did mint juleps.
